Norfolk reassigns GM Mike Butters
This comes over late this afternoon out of Norfolk in a press release:
Admirals General Manager Mike Butters Re-assigned by Lightning
TAMPA BAY, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, announced today that Admirals General Manager Mike Butters has been re-assigned as a professional scout for the Lightning. Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton will assume the general manager duties for the Admirals.
Last season was Butters’ first as Admirals general manager. The club improved by four wins and ten points under Butters’ watch last season while utilizing a franchise-record 55 players.
Bit of a rough time to switch GM's for a team, eh? Very surprised at the timing of this one.
