AMERICANS IN SUNDAY AT THE GC
The Bears hope to quash the Amerks on this Sunday along Hersheypark Drive today before departing for Hamilton, Ontario on Tuesday. Hershey enters play Sunday looking for an AHL best seven wins in the month of October, while Rochester, um, is trying to get anything going at 1-6-0-0. Notes for today:

-Daren Machesney will make his second start in as many days Sunday, with Simeon Varlamov still on the shelf with an injury. Bobby Goepfert is expected to make the trip to Canada with the team this week.

-Dean Arsene and Mathieu Perreault will be scratched today, giving way to Patrick McNeill and Andrew Joudrey.

-A bit of a line shake-up for the Bears today, although as you might imagine, the top line is immune from that. Joudrey will center a line with Bourque and Gordon today, Osala moves up to play with Wilson and Bouchard on the third line, and Laing, Beagle and Reid will skate together on the "fourth" line. I can't in good conscience call that a fourth line, they're a lot better than that phrase indicates.

-Kyle Wilson is still looking for his first goal of the season today, after getting numerous chances to crack the seal last night against Binghamton. He's got six assists coming into play Sunday, though.

-Karl Stewart leads the Amerks in goals with three. Tanner Glass has two. No one else has more than one. The team as a whole has scored just 13 goals in seven games. Little wonder they're 1-6-0-0. I think back to my days in Cincinnati when the Louisville Panthers were in the league, and the lack of talent that Florida sent its AHL affiliate. Different city, different franchise, same results so far. The 13 goals scored as you might imagine is the lowest total in the AHL so far this season.

-The Amerks are 0-4-0-0 on the road this season, and have scored just four goals away from Blue Cross Arena so far this season. As a matter of comparision, Graham Mink has four road goals BY HIMSELF so far this season.
