| AHL AUDIO ON THE WAY THIS WEEKEND |
For me (and I hope for you as well) it's been an exciting couple of months for technology advancements regarding the Bears. I've been very happy with the response to my new blog here and everyone that has visited and bookmarked us. The ability of not only streaming the games on Sportsjuice.com but the archiving of games there so you can pull up past games and listen if you choose has been a great addition too. Of course, the new podcast on WTKT.com has been great too. "The Old Barn Hockey Show" is taking off, and we're looking forward to our first live show on November 3. This morning, I'm happy to say, we've got some more exciting news for a feature on the Bears Radio Network.
Starting with Friday's game in Philadelphia, we in conjunction with other teams around the league are participating in a new broadcaster's website that effectively serves as a storage area for AHL highlights. What that means to you: We will now feature audio clips from other games on our broadcast. Want to hear what the game-winning goal from sounded like from Scott Stuccio in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton? You'll get to hear it. How about a great save to preserve a win for Binghamton. The call from Grady Whittenburg will now be part of our broadcast. All AHL broadcasts now have the ability to pull a clip from anywhere in the league for use during their own games. It's not a huge thing, but I think it makes the broadcasts better to hear what else is going on around the AHL. You'll hear its debut tomorrow night in Philadelphia, and it will be a regular feature moving forward.
A lot of exciting stuff going on this year. And that's before the Bears even hit the ice...
